"Due to the presence at the Divine Liturgy of the President Sergio MATTARELLA, ukrainians felt loving embrace of all of Italy" - Marco Yaroslav SEMEHEN, President of the Society of St. Sophia
Today, March 6, 2022, the Patriarchal Procathedral of St. Sophia in Rome was visited by the President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella, who prayed together with the Ukrainian people for an end to the war in Ukraine.
His visit, and in particular his presence during the Holy Liturgy, was a real expression of solidarity with Ukraine, its citizens, faith in its peaceful future and respect for the tireless struggle for our independence and sovereignty.
“Due to the visit of our Cathedral by President Sergio Mattarella, we felt in a special way the loving and strong brotherly embrace of Italy not only for the community of St. Sophia, but also for the entire Ukrainian nation. This gesture of support gave us strength of spirit, motivation and inspiration, despite the fatigue, to continue our prayer and struggle. We are also very greatful from the bottom of our hearts in your person, dearest Mr. President, for all the Italian people who pray for us every day and support us”, - Marco Yaroslav SEMEHEN, President of the Society of St. Sophia, Rector of the Cathedral of St. Sophia.
